IMPORTANT NOTICE
PLEASE READ THIS AGREEMENT CAREFULLY BEFORE USING HOMIE.IS SERVICES.
This Service Agreement ("Agreement") is a legal contract between you ("Customer," "you," or "your") and Homie.is ehf., ("Homie.is," "we," "us," or "our"), governing your use of our managed network security, parental control services, and related hardware.
By signing up, placing an order, or using our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Agreement.
1. DEFINITIONS
- "Services" means all managed network services, parental control management, technical support, and related services provided by Homie.is.
- "Equipment" means hardware including Firewalla devices, Ubiquiti Unifi products, access points, and related networking equipment.
- "Management Subscription" means ongoing remote monitoring, configuration, support, and maintenance services.
- "Bundle Subscription" means all-inclusive service including Equipment, installation, and Management Subscription for a fixed monthly fee.
- "Customer Network" means your home or business local area network where Services are provided.
- "Parental Controls" means content filtering, device management, and internet usage monitoring features.
- "Service Term" means the duration of your subscription as specified in your order.
2. SERVICE MODELS
2.1 Purchase Model
Under this model:
- You purchase Equipment outright at the prices listed
- You own the Equipment immediately upon full payment
- You may optionally subscribe to Management Subscription services
- You may cancel Management Subscription at any time without returning Equipment
- Installation service is billed separately (25,000 ISK or as quoted)
2.2 Bundle Subscription Model
Under this model:
- You pay a fixed monthly fee covering Equipment, installation, and Management Subscription
- Minimum 24-month commitment required
- Equipment remains Homie.is property during the commitment period
- Upon completion of 24 months, Equipment transfers to your ownership at no additional cost
- Early termination requires Equipment return or buyout payment (see Section 10)
2.3 Service Tiers
Basic Management (4,900 ISK/month):
- Remote monitoring and security alerts
- Monthly usage reports
- Email support (response within 24 hours)
- Firmware updates
Premium Management (7,900 ISK/month):
- All Basic features
- Proactive policy optimization
- 24/7 phone support
- Quarterly network health reviews
- Priority support queue
Family Shield (9,900 ISK/month):
- All Premium features
- Age-appropriate policy automation
- Advanced content filtering
- Screen time management
- Real-time threat notifications
- Priority same-day support
3. CUSTOMER OBLIGATIONS
3.1 Accurate Information
You must provide:
- Accurate contact and billing information
- Truthful representation of your home network environment
- Valid payment method
- Access to premises for installation and maintenance
3.2 Internet Service
You must:
- Maintain an active broadband internet connection (minimum 50 Mbps recommended)
- Pay for your own ISP service
- Ensure adequate electrical power for Equipment
- Provide a suitable environment (temperature, humidity, ventilation)
3.3 Parental Authority
You represent that:
- You are a parent or legal guardian of any minors monitored through Services
- You have the legal authority to monitor internet usage on your Customer Network
- You will inform household members of monitoring activities as required by law
- You are responsible for age-appropriate policy settings
3.4 Equipment Care (Bundle Subscriptions)
For Equipment owned by Homie.is, you must:
- Use Equipment only for intended purposes
- Protect Equipment from damage, theft, or loss
- Not modify, tamper with, or attempt to repair Equipment
- Not remove Equipment from the installation address without written consent
- Allow Homie.is access for maintenance and upgrades
4. HOMIE.IS OBLIGATIONS
4.1 Service Delivery
We will:
- Install Equipment professionally within agreed timeframe
- Configure Equipment according to your requirements
- Provide training on basic system operation
- Monitor your network remotely (if subscribed to management)
- Respond to support requests within specified timeframes
- Maintain Equipment firmware and security patches
4.2 Availability
We target 99% service availability for Management Subscription features
- Scheduled maintenance will be announced 48 hours in advance when possible
- Emergency maintenance may occur without notice
- Service availability depends on your internet connection and power supply
4.3 Support Hours
- Email Support: Monday-Friday, 9:00-17:00 IST (24-hour response target)
- Phone Support (Premium/Family Shield): 24/7 for urgent issues
- On-site Support: By appointment, additional fees may apply outside Greater Reykjavik
5. REMOTE ACCESS & MONITORING
5.1 Remote Access Permission
By using our Services, you grant Homie.is:
- Remote access to Equipment for configuration, monitoring, and maintenance
- Access to network data including device lists, traffic patterns, and security logs
- Permission to install updates and security patches remotely
- Viewing rights to network performance metrics and usage statistics
5.2 Access Security
- All remote access is encrypted and logged
- Access is limited to authorized technicians only
- Access is used solely for service delivery purposes
- You can review access logs upon request
5.3 Data Collection
We collect and process:
- Network usage metadata (bandwidth, connection times)
- Security threat information
- Device identifiers (MAC addresses, hostnames)
- Website categories accessed (not specific URLs)
- Application usage patterns

6. PARENTAL CONTROL SERVICES
6.1 Functionality
Parental Controls may include:
- Website and content filtering
- Application blocking
- Screen time limits
- Safe search enforcement
- YouTube restricted mode
- Social media monitoring (metadata only)
- Device pause/bedtime schedules
6.2 Limitations & Disclaimers
IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ:
- Parental Controls are tools to assist parenting, not replacements for supervision
- No system is 100% effective at blocking all inappropriate content
- Determined users may find workarounds (VPNs, proxies, mobile data)
- New threats and content emerge faster than filtering databases update
- False positives may block legitimate content
- False negatives may allow inappropriate content through
- Controls work only on your home network (not cellular data or public WiFi)
WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND:
- Regular conversations with children about online safety
- Periodic review of device usage reports
- Age-appropriate expectations
- Layered protection (device-level + network-level controls)
6.3 Liability Disclaimer
HOMIE.IS IS NOT LIABLE FOR:
- Content accessed despite active parental controls
- Circumvention of controls by users
- Psychological or other harm from online content
- Blocking of legitimate content
- Educational or professional impacts from false positives
You assume all responsibility for monitoring your children's online activities.
7. FEES & PAYMENT
7.1 Pricing
Hardware Purchase (One-time):
- Prices listed on website and order confirmation
- Prices in Icelandic Króna (ISK)
- VAT included in all prices
- Installation: 25,000 ISK (or as quoted)
Management Subscriptions (Monthly):
- Billed monthly in advance
- First payment due upon service activation
- Prices subject to change with 30 days' notice
Bundle Subscriptions (Monthly):
- Fixed price for 24-month term
- Includes all Equipment, installation, and management
- Price guaranteed for initial term
- Renewal prices may differ (30 days' notice)
7.2 Payment Methods
- Credit/debit card (automatic recurring billing)
- Direct bank transfer (invoice sent monthly)
- Payment through Icelandic online banking
7.3 Late Payment
- Grace period: 10 days after due date
- Late fee: 2,000 ISK after grace period
- Service suspension: After 20 days overdue
- Collection: Unpaid balances may be sent to collection agency
- Interest: Statutory interest rate per Icelandic law (currently 9.75% + late fees)
7.4 Price Changes
- Hardware prices may change based on supplier costs
- Subscription prices may increase with 30 days' written notice
- Bundle prices are locked for the initial commitment period
- Currency fluctuations may necessitate adjustments (limited to once per year)
8. EQUIPMENT OWNERSHIP & WARRANTY
8.1 Purchase Model Ownership
- You own Equipment upon full payment
- Ownership transfers immediately
- You may use Equipment however you choose
- You are responsible for Equipment after ownership transfer
- Management Subscription is optional and can be cancelled anytime
8.2 Bundle Subscription Ownership
- Equipment remains Homie.is property during commitment period
- Ownership automatically transfers to you after 24 months
- Equipment must be returned if you terminate early (see Section 10)
- Upon ownership transfer, Equipment is provided "AS-IS"
8.3 Manufacturer Warranty
- Firewalla devices: Standard manufacturer warranty (typically 1 year)
- Ubiquiti equipment: Standard manufacturer warranty (typically 1 year)
- Warranty claims processed through Homie.is on your behalf
- Warranty void if Equipment is modified or tampered with
- Does not cover damage from misuse, accidents, or environmental factors
8.4 Homie.is Extended Support
For active Management Subscription customers:
- We replace defective Equipment at no charge during subscription
- We handle all warranty claims and paperwork
- Advance replacement: New equipment shipped before returning defective unit
- Coverage for normal wear and tear
Does NOT cover:
- Physical damage from accidents, misuse, or negligence
- Damage from power surges, lightning, or natural disasters
- Loss or theft
- Liquid damage
- Modifications or unauthorized repairs
8.5 Equipment Loss or Damage (Bundle Subscriptions)
If Equipment is lost, stolen, or damaged beyond repair:
- Customer is liable for replacement cost
- Replacement cost = original Equipment value minus depreciation
- Depreciation: 3% per month of service
- Minimum liability: 30% of original value
9. SERVICE TERM & RENEWAL
9.1 Purchase Model
- Management Subscriptions are month-to-month
- No minimum commitment required
- Cancel anytime with 30 days' notice
- Continues until cancelled
9.2 Bundle Subscriptions
- Initial Term: 24 months from installation date
- Auto-renewal: Month-to-month after initial term
- Renewal price: May differ from initial term (30 days' notice)
- Equipment ownership transfers at end of initial term
9.3 Automatic Renewal
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
- Renewal notices sent 30 days before renewal
- You may cancel before renewal date to avoid charges
10. CANCELLATION & TERMINATION
10.1 Your Right to Cancel (Purchase Model)
- Cancel Management Subscription anytime with 30 days' written notice
- No penalties or fees for cancellation
- You keep all Equipment you purchased
- Final bill prorated to last day of service
- No refunds for current billing period
10.2 Your Right to Cancel (Bundle Subscriptions)
During Initial 30-Day Trial (if applicable):
- Full refund minus installation costs
- Equipment must be returned in original condition
After 30 Days, Before 24-Month Term:
- Must pay early termination fee OR return Equipment
Option A: Return all Equipment in good condition
- Shipping costs your responsibility
- Inspection required (refurbishing fees if damaged)
Option B: Keep Equipment and pay buyout amount
- Buyout = remaining months × monthly bundle price × 0.5
- Example: 12 months remaining at 14,900 ISK/month = 89,400 ISK
After 24-Month Term:
- Cancel anytime with 30 days' notice
- Equipment is yours to keep
- No termination fees
10.3 Termination by Homie.is
We may terminate Services immediately if:
- Payment is 30+ days overdue
- You violate this Agreement
- You use Services for illegal purposes
- You abuse or harass our staff
- You tamper with or damage Equipment (Bundle model)
- Your actions threaten our network or other customers
Upon termination by us:
- Access to Services suspended immediately
- Outstanding balances due immediately
- Equipment must be returned (Bundle model) within 14 days
- Failure to return Equipment: charged full replacement cost
10.4 Refund Policy
Hardware Purchases:
- 30-day return window if Equipment unopened/unused
- Restocking fee: 15% of purchase price
- No returns after installation unless defective
Installation Service:
- Non-refundable once work begins
Management Subscriptions:
- No refunds for partial months
- No refunds for annual prepayments except pro-rata for early termination by Homie.is
Bundle Subscriptions:
- No refunds after 30-day trial period except as specified in Section 10.2
11. ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY
11.1 Prohibited Activities
You may NOT use Services for:
- Illegal activities of any kind
- Copyright infringement or piracy
- Hacking or unauthorized access attempts
- Distribution of malware or viruses
- Spamming or phishing
- Harassment or cyberbullying
- Child exploitation or abuse material
- Threats or violence incitement
- Reselling Services without authorization
- Commercial use (residential plans only)
11.2 Network Abuse
You may NOT:
- Exceed reasonable bandwidth usage (defined as top 5% of users)
- Host public-facing servers without business plan
- Deliberately circumvent security measures
- Interfere with other users' service
- Use automated scraping or excessive API calls
11.3 Consequences of Violation
- Warning for first minor offense
- Service suspension for repeated or serious violations
- Termination for illegal activity or severe violations
- Legal action if required by law
- No refunds for violations
12. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
12.1 Service Availability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW: We are NOT LIABLE for:
- Service interruptions due to internet outages
- Power failures at your location
- Force majeure events (natural disasters, war, strikes)
- Third-party equipment failures
- ISP-related issues
- Scheduled maintenance
- Your own equipment or configuration errors
12.2 Data Loss
We are NOT LIABLE for loss of data or settings
- You should maintain your own backups
- Configuration settings may be lost if Equipment fails
- We make reasonable efforts to backup configurations but do not guarantee backup availability
12.3 Consequential Damages
WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR:
- Lost profits or business opportunities
- Emotional distress or psychological harm
- Data breaches on your network
- Harm from content accessed online
- Damage to your devices or other equipment
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
12.4 Maximum Liability
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO:
- Purchase Model: Amount paid in past 3 months
- Bundle Model: One month's subscription fee
- Equipment: Replacement value or repair cost only
This limitation applies to all claims including contract, negligence, or other legal theories.
12.5 Security Disclaimer
NO SYSTEM IS 100% SECURE
- We use industry-standard security but cannot guarantee immunity from breaches
- You are responsible for your own device security (antivirus, passwords, updates)
- We recommend multi-layered security approach
13. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
13.1 Homie.is Property
The following remain our property:
- Homie.is brand, logos, and trademarks
- Website content and design
- Custom software and scripts
- Configuration templates
- Documentation and training materials
13.2 Third-Party Property
- Firewalla software and firmware: Owned by Firewalla LLC
- Ubiquiti software: Owned by Ubiquiti Inc.
- You receive a license to use, not ownership of software
13.3 Your Data
- You retain ownership of your personal data
- We have a license to use data as specified in Privacy Policy
- We may use anonymized, aggregated data for service improvement
14. WARRANTY DISCLAIMERS
14.1 Service Warranty
SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- MERCHANTABILITY
- FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
- NON-INFRINGEMENT
- UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION
14.2 Equipment Warranty
- Equipment sold with manufacturer warranty only
- Homie.is makes no additional warranties on hardware
- We do not warranty Equipment against obsolescence
- Technology evolves rapidly; Equipment may become outdated
14.3 Parental Control Warranty
- We DO NOT WARRANT that parental controls will block all inappropriate content
- We DO NOT GUARANTEE controls cannot be circumvented
- NO WARRANTY that services will meet your specific expectations
- Results vary based on usage patterns and determined users
15. INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Homie.is, its officers, employees, and contractors from:
- Claims arising from your use of Services
- Your violation of this Agreement
- Your violation of any laws or third-party rights
- Content accessed through your network
- Actions of anyone using your Services (with or without permission)
- Disputes with minors or their parents regarding monitoring
This includes legal fees and court costs.
16. DISPUTE RESOLUTION
16.1 Informal Resolution
Before taking legal action, you agree to:
- Contact us in writing describing the issue
- Allow 30 days for us to resolve the matter
- Engage in good-faith negotiation
16.2 Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by Icelandic law without regard to conflict of law principles.
16.3 Jurisdiction
Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Reykjavik, Iceland.
16.4 Arbitration (Optional)
- Parties may agree to binding arbitration
- Conducted in Reykjavik under Icelandic Arbitration Act
- Decision final and binding
16.5 Class Action Waiver
You agree to resolve disputes individually, not as part of class action or consolidated proceeding.
17. MODIFICATIONS TO AGREEMENT
17.1 Changes to Terms
- We may modify this Agreement at any time
- 30 days' notice for material changes
- Notice via email or website announcement
- Continued use after changes = acceptance
17.2 Opting Out of Changes
If you disagree with material changes:
- Cancel Services within 30 days of notice
- No early termination fees apply if we make material adverse changes
- Receive pro-rata refund for prepaid services
18. MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS
18.1 Entire Agreement
This Agreement, together with:
- Privacy Policy
- Acceptable Use Policy
- Service-specific terms
- Your order confirmation
Constitutes the entire agreement between parties.
18.2 Severability
If any provision is found unenforceable, remaining provisions continue in full effect.
18.3 Waiver
Failure to enforce any provision doesn't waive our right to enforce it later.
18.4 Assignment
- You may NOT assign this Agreement without written consent
- We may assign to affiliates or in connection with business sale
18.5 Force Majeure
Neither party liable for delays/failures due to circumstances beyond reasonable control including:
- Natural disasters
- War or terrorism
- Government actions
- Pandemics
- Infrastructure failures
18.6 Notices
All notices must be in writing:
To Homie.is:

To Customer:
- Email or physical address on file
18.7 Language
- This Agreement provided in Icelandic and English
- Icelandic version controls in case of discrepancy
- Translation provided for convenience only
19. SPECIAL PROVISIONS
19.1 Consumer Rights (Iceland)
Under Icelandic consumer protection law, you have statutory rights that cannot be limited by this Agreement, including:
- Right to complain to Consumer Protection Authority
- Right to use alternative dispute resolution
- Statutory warranty rights under Sales of Goods Act
- 14-day cooling-off period for distance sales (may not apply to installed services)
This Agreement does not limit these statutory rights.
19.2 Business Customers
If you are a business entity:
- Different terms may apply
- Contact us for commercial service agreement
- Certain consumer protections may not apply

- ☐ I have read the Privacy Policy and consent to data processing as described
